How MOEˣ is made

The rules every page follows, so you can decide how much to trust it.

The short version

  1. Every page lists its sources at the bottom.
  2. Sources must be research, official guidance, or organizations led by autistic people.
  3. Each page shows the month it was last checked.
  4. MOEˣ is not reviewed by a clinical panel, and never claims to be.
  5. Anyone can report a mistake by email. Corrections are made and dated.

How pages are written

Source rules

Used
  • Peer-reviewed research and reviews of many studies
  • Official guidance (for example CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the EEOC, the Job Accommodation Network)
  • Organizations led by autistic people, and research designed with them
Not used as evidence
  • Companies selling a product or service
  • Sponsored content or paid placements
  • Single stories presented as fact

What MOEˣ will never do

Review and refresh

MOEˣ is not reviewed by a clinical panel. Instead, every claim is tied to a source you can check. If a page is ever reviewed by a qualified professional, it will say so by name and date. It will never say so otherwise.

Facts that change over time (costs, laws, statistics) and every outside link are kept in one refresh list. They are rechecked from time to time, and each page shows the month it was last checked.

Report a mistake

Email hello@ilovemoe.com with the page and what looks wrong. That's all that's needed. Corrections are made in the next update and noted on the page with the date.

MOEˣ doesn't answer personal questions or give advice by email. For a crisis in the US, call or text 988.
